Overview

The Sunbury Pipeline is a 35-mile interstate transmission pipeline, which is owned and operated by UGI Sunbury, LLC, a subsidiary of UGI Energy Services, LLC. The pipeline serves Panda Hummel Station, a state-of-the-art natural gas-fueled power plant at the existing site of the coal-fired Sunbury Generation facility near Shamokin Dam in Snyder County, Pennsylvania, as well as UGI Central Penn Gas, a local natural gas distribution company. Hummel’s plant will not only generate enough electricity to power one million homes, but it will do so by releasing fewer NOx emissions, and virtually no sulfur dioxide, mercury or particulate pollution.

UGI Energy Services is active in Marcellus midstream operations, focusing on natural gas transmission and underground storage. UGI companies operate over 12,000 miles of pipeline in Pennsylvania and have been operating for over 130 years.

The new Panda Hummel Station power plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2018.
